Other information
The property is split into a main house (2BR) and a self-contained bungalow out the back of the garden. The available space is the bungalow, which would suit a single person or a couple. It’s fully self-contained with a kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and lounge room space! Only thing it lacks is a laundry, which is located in the main house. It has a ceiling fan in the bedroom but does get quite hot in summer, would recommend an air conditioner of some sort, and a heater in winter! We’ve added a sizing guide in the pics.

The bungalow sits in a big shared outdoor space with a garden that is great for socialising in the summer. We often hang out all together for house dinners, or movie nights.

Home Description

Description of the home

The details:
The bungalow is available now.
Rent (one person): $1473 pcm
Rent (couple): $1550 pcm
Bond: $1004
Must be willing to go on the lease, and pay a $165 rental transfer fee.
All bills are split evenly across the housemates.
No pets as we already have a cat, and he's cute but he’s a bully.
Ideally looking for a long term tenant, open to anything 3 months plus.

Location:
Stellar location close (but not too close) to Sydney road. The house is a five minute walk to Anstey train station, and a seven minute walk to the 19 tram. Close to all the good things Brunswick has to offer: an abundance of cafes, restaurants, parks, shops, and bars.

Accessibility:
Access to the bungalow is located through the side driveway gate. Since there is regularly a car parked there, access is quite narrow. There are no steps in building itself.

What we’re looking for in a housemate:
Queer and 420 friendly, and preferably a green thumb who is willing to contribute to maintaining the garden. Looking for someone working FT (although it’s not a deal breaker), late 20s - late 30s.

Parking: Would best suit someone without a car, although there is very limited off street parking available.

Even though the new housemates won’t be living under the same roof as us, we’re looking to cultivate a friendly social atmosphere where people can feel supported, and communicate to resolve issues together. Please shoot me a short message with a little about yourself - what you’re looking for in a housemate, short spiel about yourself, and your move-in timeline. We will be meeting people asap!

About the occupants
The main house is occupied by:

Sam (she/her, 29): Working FT as an Environmental Planner, while finishing a Masters of Urban Planning. Loves getting out for a hike/trail run, reading, cooking up a storm and weekly trips to Ovens Street Bakery. Please don’t call me Samantha or I’ll have a conniption.

Phoebe (they/them, 35): creative type with a day job working four days as a functions coordinator at an independent brewery. Always tired but loves a living room dance party, a cuddle and sharing a j and a yarn at the end of the day. Is likely to cook for you. Makes brownies at least once a month and will always remind you to wear sunscreen.

Possum (he/him, 14, cat): grey tabby who doesn't work AT ALL yet apparently owns the place. Beautiful beautiful boy who will yell at you for food no matter the time of day. Loves a snuggle in bed and a lay in the sun.
