Heyy i’m Jahneya Douglas, i’m 17 years old, turning 18 in March of 2025. I’ve just graduated high school and am having a gap year before i begin university in Melbourne. I have a very stable part time job at Spotlight Northlakes and am looking to get a second job to maximise my earnings now that i’m out of school.
I understand having a 17 year old in a household might not be ideal for most however my personal situation in my current home is one i need to leave in order to grow and get away from a toxic environment. I also beleive it would help me prepare to move to Melbourne as i’ll have to be living in a share house there as well.

Important personal qualities
Although i might be younger than most people on this app, I am very mature for my age. I guarantee everyone hears that all the time but i actually had to grow up quite fast due to my living situation, and all my siblings are grown adults with children, so i’ve always had to adapt and learn to live with and socialise with adults from an early age.
I am a pretty extroverted person but of course I also love my alone time. I’m always down for a good chat though and I love meeting new people and making new mates. I’m also abit of a clean freak, i’ve always taken pride in keeping my room clean and my things organised. I’m more than happy to clean up after myself and others when needed and personal hygiene is extremely important to me.
Being abit of a social butterfly I am out quite a lot when i’m not working and do come back quite late from plans occasionally however if this is something I need to change to adapt to those I love with i am 100% willing to do so.
I do have a lovely boyfriend and some lovely mates that i would enjoy having at my home occasionally as long as their respectful to everyone’s space. I understand that it can be quite a risk with someone at my age allowing this as many people in my age group can be rude, immature and disrespectful but i am very selective and careful of who I surround myself with.

Food sharing and furniture
I am completely fine with sharing food or supplying for only myself. I’m 100% happy to do my own groceries or if there’s a system where everyone puts money in for groceries for everyone im more than happy to and have the funds to contribute.
I do have furniture from my current home i’m able to bring with me if I need to, such as a bed, bedside table, desk, andonis mirror.
