About this person
Hi! I’m Kieren. I’m looking for a pet-friendly rental around Brisbane. Ideally less then 30 minutes from Mount gravatt and/or near a train station, though this is not essential as I am willing to completely relocate. Im 23, working as a barista and bartender, and planning to start full-time studies next year. In a dream, I’d love a small studio, unit, or granny flat. But I’m also open to renting a room, if it could accommodate my two beloved outdoor dogs. They’re staffys, desexed, friendly, Ive had them forever and mean the world to me. I know finding a place with pets isn’t easy, but I’m committed to making it work. They’re trained to stay outside. However, one can jump a 5-foot fence, so secure fencing would be ideal! 🐾
A bit more about my situation:
• I'm currently paying $180 a week for my own room and bathroom but understand that's cheap. I'm prepared to pay up to $350 a week, though it would be out of desperation. $250 & below would be more affordable:)
• As a student on Centrelink benefits, I will be receiving regular payments that ensure rent is covered each week, even if my job situation changes. Which will be starting next year.
• I’ve been renting with friends for two years, but I’ve unfortunately overstayed my welcome and need to find a home 🏠
• I don’t have traditional rental references, but I’m responsible, reliable, and can provide references from my current and former employers.
• I don’t have a car at the moment due to a dispute after purchasing a faulty vehicle, but I hope to have that resolved by early next year. Parking would be a bonus!
A bit about me!
I moved from NSW to Queensland two years ago, and have been working in hospitality since I was 16. I love what I do, and next year I’m hoping to study fashion design, combining my love for creativity and style. I’m a non-smoker, I'm single, and while I enjoy going out for a drink occasionally, I rarely drink at home. I’m outdoorsy and love spending time with my dogs, but I’m also a bit of a homebody. I’m respectful, kind, and I value having a quiet space to recharge.
I also feel obliged to mention that I'm part of the
LGBTQ+ community as a gay man. So Im looking for an environment where this is met with respect and understanding!
If anyone has leads, advice, or is willing to consider my situation, I’d be incredibly grateful. I’m not urgently looking to move. I expect early next year would be best as I’m still getting my finances in order. Thank you so much for any help!😁

Important personal qualities
I value respect, kindness, and responsibility. I’m a reliable and considerate person who takes pride in being clean, organised, and respectful of others’ space. I like a positive environment where everyone feels comfortable. I’m also independent, prefer to keep to myself when at home, and enjoy having a personal space to recharge. However, I’m always willing to help with chores or lend a hand when needed.
Food sharing and furniture
I prefer arranging my own food but am happy to share occasionally if it works out for everyone. I’m not vegetarian or vegan, so I eat a range of foods, but I’m respectful of others’ dietary preferences. I also only have my own bedroom furnishings, but also always happy to help if needed.
Description of pets
I have two friendly female dogs: a 6-year-old Staffy named Kora and a 4-year-old Staffy x Bull Terrier named Kleo. Kora is very gentle and has an old soul, while Kleo is young at heart, sweet, but a bit excitable. Kleo can sometimes jump on people out of excitement and unfortunately needs a backyard with a fence at least 5ish feet high to keep her safely contained.
Both dogs have been around young children since they were puppies and are very well-trained with kids. They also get along well with other dogs, though they do best with larger dogs, as they can play a little rough due to their Staffy nature.
At home, they can be a bit territorial once comfortable. Kleo may bark at other dogs or strange noises outside but will quiet down on command. Overall, they’re wonderful, well-behaved dogs, and any dog lover would love Kleo and Kora!
