About this person
Both myself (32) and my girlfriend (23) have recently moved to Australia from the UK on a working holiday visa, and are looking for an apartment or room share. We are currently staying with family until we find our own set-up. We are open to tenancies from 1 month to 3 months in room shares to get us started. We both worked in retail/hospitality in the UK and aim to do the same here as we find our feet. We aim to work jobs during the day and have our evenings free, but I may look for multiple jobs and work some evenings of the week. As for outside of work, we are pretty laid back, we enjoy getting out the house for walks or exploring new areas, we like to go to the beach and want to give surfing a go. We go out for food a fair bit, go shopping, go out for coffee and breakfast on days off together. We go to the cinema a lot, we read, cook meals at home, watch movies on our laptops. We don't party really or drink, but up for the occasional night out or social bits. We want to be early risers here and take advantage of the outdoors where we can. We're here for a year, planning to stay on the gold coast and work, then do some travelling before the year ends and either move on or if we like Australia, stay longer.
Important personal qualities
A mutual respect for each others space and possessions. Clear communication. An understanding of each others lifestyle and preferences to maintain and harmonious shared living space. Split responsibilities around cleaning duties and tidying up after oneself. Politeness, common decency and just generally good energy :)
Food sharing and furniture
Both myself and my girlfriend don't have any dietary restrictions. I'm open to the idea of sharing meals at times, but mainly I'd say I just cook for myself and prep my meals for work. We don't have any furniture as we've just got here and this will be the first place we live in. Ideally want to not buy too much stuff as we could only be here for one year.
