Hi, Mathew here! I recently turned 41 and am looking to move to the Gold Coast from Sydney, via a 14-month stopover in Coffs Harbour. Pre-COVID, I was an event producer in entertainment. Since then, I’ve been working in construction management, which I’ll continue with up here.

I have furnishings from my previous apartment (see included photos) and a 4-year-old Golden Retriever, Una. The original plan was to take on a lease with a new housemate, but I’ve put this profile up to see if there’s a potential match as I had great success in finding housemates and making strong friendships through this platform in the past.

I’m a big fan of movies, live gigs, sporting events, and also enjoy nights at home cooking and watching tv. I love hanging out with friends (or in this case, making new ones), hitting the beach, cooking, and am always up for checking out new movies. On weekends, I enjoy getting out—whether it’s exploring local beaches, markets, festivals, or going away for a weekend. I’m not really a big drinker, though I can enjoy an occasional wine or beer with a meal or to celebrate.

In terms of furnishings, I’m happy to bring any of the following and store the rest:

12-month-old 470L fridge (bottom mount freezer)

I’m in no rush and am flexible with moving dates as compatibility and the right fit are important. I’m currently staying in Kirra Beach (Jan 6th-10th) but will make additional trips up from Coffs Harbour to meet any genuine and potential housemates.

I naturally gravitate toward positive, glass-half-full people, and my sources tell me my banter is solid too. I'm tidy and very considerate of others, so if you share a similar outlook and can hold your own in a good conversation, definitely say hello! Kind-hearted people are a big plus. Bonus points for dog lovers :)

Una is a dark-haired, shorter coated Golden Retriever who’s very loyal to those who offer pats and hugs. She’s very quiet, borderline shy, and never barks, chews, or hops on furniture. She comes everywhere with me, including job sites where possible. Una is compatible with other dogs and cats and will happily spend hours lying beside a fellow canine when at home. She loves daily walks and is always being showered with pats from others.
