About this person
My name is Renee. My partner Stephen and I are interested in finding a house/townhouse/unit/studio apartment to live in either the Drouin area or surrounding suburbs (because it's close to where I work). We are looking for a maximum 1-2 bedroom, 1 bathroom place, or if shared housing - our own bedroom (and ideally) our own bathroom. (Preferably, we would love a master bedroom with en suite, however the latter is fine also).

During the day on weekdays, I work as a laundry worker (Renée) at Park Avenue Industrial Laundry in Warragul. In the evenings/weekends, I'm a delivery driver for Dantes Pizza in Drouin. Stephen works casually as a general construction labourer at various worksites around the area. He also receives Newstart Allowance (Centrelink) every fortnight.

We currently live in Drouin with one other housemate (the owner of the house). However, he's decided that he would like to have his own space again for a while, and is also planning an overseas trip at the end of the year, so Stephen and I are looking for a fresh start somewhere new!

We would be perfect tenants because we love living the quiet life, and are both clean and respectful of our surroundings. During the week, we are both mostly working. On the days we are at home, our favourite things/hobbies we enjoy are, staying in for a night of Netflix, gardening/tending to my succulent garden, and I also love colouring-in! We are friendly and great communicators - we talk openly and honestly and keen to live with like-minded people.

We've set a 2 week time frame (as of the 08/12/24) where we are aim to hopefully be in a new place by then.

Our budget is $475 max. per week (inc. bills), however, we are willing to be flexible on this, if it so happens that we come across a place that ticks the majority or all of our boxes.

Important personal qualities
Personal qualities important to me in a housemate is someone who is friendly, clean, and has respect for their surroundings and for the people they are living with. For example, not taking any belongings from their housemates, keeping noise level down to a minimum late at night, cleaning up after themselves, particularly in communal areas, etc. Other important qualities are people who are open, honest and are willing participants in communication with others. This can simply be engaging in friendly conversation at dinner time, or even just a polite 'Hello' and 'how are you?' when crossing paths. However, it is mostly helpful during times of potential conflict or when issues may or may not arise in the house. I would hope that everyone I was living with felt comfortable and safe to be able to bring up anything that's bothering them or other issues with their housemates and following from that, a respectful, calm and productive conversation can be had where a solution is hopefully found and everyone leaves the conversation feeling happy and satisfied.
Food sharing and furniture
Would prefer to arrange our own food and meals as we don't cook very often (HOPELESS in the kitchen..!) and therefore, would just be easier this way.

We don't have many furniture items at the moment - we have 1 queen bed & mattress, 1 small 4-cubed shelving and 2 bedside tables. Other than that, just mostly clothing, books, etc. We would deeply appreciate if anyone we potentially might live is willing to share items such as cooking utensils in the kitchen, or washing machine in the laundry, etc. We don't use much, also, we are always respectful of using anything belonging to anyone by else i.e taking care of things/cleaning up after ourselves.
