I'm 54 years old in a few days. I'm an IT consultant. For the last year, I’ve been moving my focus from security, networks, and virtualization to home automation. I have an 8 kg French Bulldog named Einstein. He's a legend. He is very quiet and very smart. He never barks unless he thinks something is seriously wrong and none of the humans around him know it. He is not the least bit aggressive but loves to play. He assumes all humans and other dogs are there to play with him. If he has a weakness it is that he does not recognise aggression in other dogs quickly enough. I have a couple of e-bikes and a trailer for Einstein. I try to do everything I can on a bike versus my car e.g. shopping, errands, customer meetings etc. I typically work from home but I have an office in S Melbourne that I can use 24/7. I'm originally from the US but I have lived in Ireland and Singapore in addition to being an Australian Citizen.
Important personal qualities
I value respect, trust an integrity at the top. I'm easy going. I have lived and worked in most parts of the world. I appreciate diversity. I'm pretty adapable as long as I'm with folks who share my values. I love to cook, I SCUBA dive when I can, I used to water ski and downhill ski a lot. I need to get back on the golf course. I have filed patents. I have worked for huge companies and startups. There is not much in the IT space that I have not done or don't understand.
Food sharing and furniture
I went vegan for the first three months of this year just to see the impact. I'm easygoing on food. I could meal prep or do my own thing. I have a ridiculous BBQ if there is space for it. Being from Texas there is not much I don't understand about meat and fire. I have lots of kitchen kit that I could bring. I know Sous Vide well. I have everything to make pasta from scratch quickly. I have very close mates in India, Singapore, China, Japan, HK, S Korea. My Asian cooking skills are weaker but I love all cuisines. I'm planning on putting lots in storage. But I have no issue with bringing more with me if there is space or requirements.
