Hi there! I’m George, a 23 year old half-Brit, half-French, with a WHV looking to live in Melbourne for at least the next 6 months.
I went to university in the UK up to Masters level, but decided I didn’t want to go straight into a corporate job. So I worked as a barista for a while, and I’d love to pick that up again in the capital of coffee! I’d been travelling in SE Asia for 14 weeks before I arrived in Oz, spent a week and a half here in Melbourne before deciding this is the city for me.
It would be great to find a house/flatshare with some people I could really connect with and build a community around. I’m always willing to make a shared meal, or go to the pub, or chat in a park, or play games together. Preferably all of those things! I do value my alone time too, especially now I’ve been bunking in hostel dorms for ages.
I’m currently travelling down the East Coast, so won’t be able to do any physical inspections until the end of November. Happy to do a virtual inspection if that gets the ball rolling quicker. I’d ideally like to be settled in by Christmas, budget is $300/week inc. bills, and I would prefer a furnished room.

Important personal qualities
I am a warm and friendly person, respect boundaries, am clean, open minded, and willing to put effort in to making a house a home. I want to truly know and be friends with my housemates, otherwise I may as well just keep staying in hostels.
Food sharing and furniture
I’ve usually looked after myself with meals in previous houseshares, but I’m very keen to make a shared meal every now and then. I’d rate myself as a decent cook, nothing too fancy but I much prefer to make my own bolognese than buy it in a jar. I enjoyed so many incredible meals in SE Asia that I’d love to try and make myself (we’ll see how that goes haha).
