Hello.

I'll be moving from Queensland. It's a new start for me, and therefore I am looking for a nice, friendly, quiet environment, so that I can flourish rather than survive the hunger games of housing that Queensland has become.

I do well in a place with people who check in with, and legitimately care about, each other, know that sometimes one needs to be alone, and where housemates can engage in a conversation without an agenda.

I have a national police certificate, a rental reference and evidence of being able to financially support myself. I will also be seeking a full-time job, and plan to be active and pursue my interests (reading, writing, movies, debating, bicycle riding, travelling) and social life, once my housing situation is secure.

I do not smoke (and prefer not to live in a smoking household due to asthma), nor drink alcohol, take non-prescribed drugs, or gamble. I don't make judgements on anyone who participates in such activities, particularly where it doesn't negatively impact other people.

On a final note, because I don't receive any government assistance, including in securing housing, it has been very tough few months/year, and thus I'm just wanting, without stress (hopefully), to find a room to rent with nice people! I do not care if you have a full-time job/study and are out all day, or if you like to stay at home all day, or if you receive government assistance. As long as you are able to handle your own finances, including paying rent/mortgage and bills on time, have a high level of personal hygiene and household cleanliness, and are a NICE person, then you are doing awesome!

I'm happy with a variety of housemates, but would like to find people who genuinely care about other people. A quiet, chilled household is great, as is a house, and housemates, that is clean and smells fresh (please, no overwhelming smells).

Happy to share a meal once in a while, otherwise, I like to arrange my own food and meals.
I don't have any furniture or household goods (all in storage), but can sort out obtaining my own room furniture.

I don't have any pets but would be very ok with sharing a household with a cat or small dog 😁
