Hello! I'm Bettina. I've been living in the Inner West over the last 20 years but am happy to move anywhere that suits. I'm looking for a place within walking distance to public transport. I do have a car but I like to get public transport to work when I can. I love my job - I work as a freelance Auslan interpreter - it keeps me quite busy, out and about around Sydney, plus the occasional video call job that I do from home (via Zoom, Teams, Skype, etc on my laptop in my room). I can be working five jobs in a day, or just one job all day, or evening work, or weekend work - every week is different, which keeps life interesting.

I am friendly and social, but I like to have downtime as well. I don't like the idea of living in a party house. I like home to be restful, and at the most would invite someone over for a cup of tea and a chat. That said, I'd usually just meet friends at cafes! When I'm not working, I am involved in community theatre and am keen to pursue some other personal interests this year - looking to find that elusive work/life balance that people talk about!

I spend my evenings either at home or out and about, interpreting at arty events, rehearsing for plays, or meeting friends for dinner. Or reading, meditating, and very occasionally watching a TV series if I get the time and remember to!

I love theatre, art, travel, good movies, music, personal development, cats, birds, books, eating out, pottering about, going to cafes, walking, dancing classes, and a million other things.

I don't smoke, am respectful of people's personal space and property, clean and tidy. I love pets (especially cats, but don't have any at present).

Friendly, respectful, thoughtful.

I usually do my own thing, food-wise, because of my varied work schedule.
These days I eat what you’d call a ‘meat based diet’ so if you have issues with me whipping up a steak on the regular then I’m not the housemate for you.
I have no desire to upset any vegans or vegetarians so just putting that out there from the start!

I’ve done a lot of declutterring the last couple of years so have almost no furniture. Hoping my next move will be the easiest one yet!

I don't have any pets but I am an animal lover. Occasionally I cat-sit for friends when they go away, and am registered with a house-sitting / pet sitting website for when I feel the urge to get away from Sydney for a bit.
