Well hello there, I am Hareen - I am 35 and moving to Sydney for 6 months and looking a place to live in a nice area with cool people. I am a management consultant (and yes I am still not a 100% sure what they do either;). I am a clean, tidy housemate who tries to spend as much time out of the house as possible whether that is going for a run, playing cricket, going climbing or just hanging out at a bar. In terms of how I am as a housemate, as a Londoner I have always tried to break the view of us as unwelcoming people and so I am always happy to chat, try and make people laugh and have invited previous housemates to social occasions or fun stuff that I am doing but it is just an invitation as I dont want encroach on your life or personal space/ life.
Important personal qualities
A good flatmate on a personal level - is someone who is genuinely interested in other people, sociable and understanding (I think that is the most important one as when you are flatmate you meet people having a tough day and you need a bit of empathy). In terms of living I think it is someone who is clean and tidy (as I rule I would be mortified if anyone had to clean up after and would always make it up to you).
Food sharing and furniture
I prefer to arrange my own but only because I am an awful cook and feel really guilty when people make me food and I then feel obligated to make them food but nervous that they dont like food that tastes of cardboard
