I'm 39 and work full-time as a anthropologist at Macquarie University. Working hard but just regular hours these days and Thurs-Sat I make space for dancing/singing seeing friends. Have recently started a queer jazz funk band which has been amazing (I'm learning bass, but do have earplugs for practicing with)
Important personal qualities
Honesty, kindness, reasonably tidy. Love a spontaneous song and/or dance session, but not required. Also into making space for chill/down time (for myself and others).
Lovely to watch a movie or make dinner together when we sync up and I've come to love the Saturday morning quiz (though I'm a kiwi originally, so some of my Aussie knowledge is still a bit underwhelming - I'm okay at the classic film / literature sections (and some of the science bits) though, if you need that in your house line-up).
I'm out and about a fair bit (work, yoga, drag, dancing, running, music, pals + gf), so it's important for me to have housies who are cool with me not necessarily being home all the time and I love living with people who are out doing their thing in the world. So nice to catch up on all the happenings over a chill Sunday dinner, though, if/when folks are around.
My most important requirement in terms of the actual house is dryness... I LOVE my current home and housies and am only moving because of the damp/mould - it seems it gives me migraines these days. So air flow is where it's at for me.

Food sharing and furniture
I'm fine to fit in with whatever system you have. I might be working late-ish at uni or heading to dance/yoga class or off for a run after work, so I might not always make it back for shared dinners. But happy to chat/negotiate. I'm vegetarian and avoid gluten (but fine to have gluten in the house) and have kinda weird dietary stuff (ask about amines at your own risk!). But I've loved sharing groceries with my dear current housies and would be up for whatever level of sharing works for folks (like just milks/oils/staples or whatever weird idiosyncratic set up works for us). I come with a good haul of herbal teas that I'm happy to share :)
