The rooms are a standard Australian bedroom size approx. 12sq m -so they are not tiny. The rooms have a single bed, side table, bed lamp, occasional chair, a built-in robe, a fridge & TV. Like all other rooms at Fisher House, each Cozy Room is individually styled with homely touches.

The Junior Suites are truly lovely but as the name suggests are slightly narrower than the Fisher Suites. Other than this, the Junior Suites offer you the same special luxury of having separated sleeping & living zones. The Fisher Studio is the only room with a private ensuite & private entry door & security screen. This lovely east-facing room may not be the largest, but it certainly offers you that extra level of privacy. The studio also has an interconnecting door to the main house allowing easy access to communal areas, kitchens & laundry. Like all rooms at Fisher House, the Studio has a single bed, side table, bed lamp, desk, desk lamp, desk chair, cupboard, storage shelf, fridge & TV. Fisher House is a WOMEN ONLY Share House. We offer clean, secure, well-appointed rental accommodation with all-inclusive rates(no wifi). Staying at Fisher House will feel like it is your Home Away from Home.

To meet the needs of the women choosing Fisher House to call their Home Away from Home, we have practical & homely House Rules (these are available on request). We offer tenancy to a diverse range of women who require accommodation in Brisbane whether that be for study, international working holiday visa, nursing placement, medical internship, work relocation, freelance artists training or working in Brisbane, Country Queensland women needing a city base, or local women struggling to meet the fierce rental market due to lack of rental history.

Each guest has their own fridge in the room & a lockable pantry cupboard in one of the kitchens. This ensures tenants have control and security over their own food supplies. Fisher House has 2 fully equipped kitchens with everything you need to prepare and enjoy your meals. Fisher House guests have access to 7 full sized share-bathrooms plus two additional powder rooms; One of our guest rooms has a private entry door and private ensuite.

The single-occupancy rooms, we offer for rent, range in size & costs, but are all fully furnished to the same high quality.

Bills and expenses

Fisher House offers so much more than a regular boarding house, student accommodation, or furnished flat because when you arrive, everything you need is here and included in your rate. The only add-ons are your wifi ( due to a NBN line fault currently -see note below). Fisher House rates include water, electricity, use of washing machines (& washing liquid) & clothes dryers. Extra homely touches include coffee machine, tea, instant coffee, filtered water & fully equipped kitchens.

What do your rates include?
1. Electricity & water are included as is use of the laundry (incl washing liquid).
2. All communal areas are professionally cleaned three times per week & individual rooms are professionally cleaned fortnightly, & all communal areas are professionally cleaned three times a week. Just as in a normal home, everyone living in Fisher House is responsible for the general cleanliness & day to day chores around the house.
3. Our coffee station is fully stocked with assorted teas & instant coffee but, we also have a coffee machine which is fully stocked with fresh roasted beans.
4. Access to Wifi in the central hub areas is currently offered as a bonus inclusion if / when available, but the Wi-Fi is not guaranteed. This is an ongoing NBN issue, and a solution is being sought. Once the telecom company can find a solution, Wi-Fi will be inclusive.

What is not included?
Bed linen, pillows, duvets and towels - We offer quality "recycled" Linen Packs for rent during your stay, or you can choose to bring all your own linen.

We really are just like a home away from home so once you have paid for your rent & selected your linen option you really only have your wifi and food to arrange.

About the occupants
Fisher House is a Share House for Women Only and we aim to provide a safe, clean, homely environment where you can relax during your time in Brisbane, whether that be for study, work, working holiday, relocation or you are a local and just need to rent a single room. Our tenants must be 18+years old, and our rooms are currently single occupancy only.

We offer a friendly and social environment, but we are not a 'party house'. Women who stay at Fisher House are from many cultural & religious backgrounds, various ages, and different stages of study or work life. Fisher House tenants are national & international students- undergrad / TAFE and College students; Grad students & PHD students. Being located so centrally to Brisbane's biggest hospitals we also have several nurses and nursing students. Fisher house is the perfect choice for international travellers with working holiday visas wanting to take advantage of our 3-month leases. Really, we are the best choice for any women wanting a base in Brisbane to call her home away from home especially as our location is so central.

We accept first time Australian and International renters based on interview and personal background. Our tenancy acceptance is not just based on whether you have a rental history. Fisher House provides a perfect home away from home no matter whether you are working, studying, or travelling, and need a base in Brisbane for the duration of your stay with leases ranging between 3 and 12 months.
