Home Description

Description of the home

I have a spare room in Alphington, 10min from the Alphington station and the farmers market. Nice quiet townhouse next to the Yarra, and a mazing city trails. All you need for a chill life close to the city.

The location is about 20min on the train to the city. I usually ride and takes me about 30-35min. 15min to Collingwood or a 20ish min bike ride. Closest shopping strip would be Fairfield a 30min walk or 8min bikeride. Or the Ivanhoe shops which is a 6min drive. The yarra is a 5min walk away with big parks and walking or cycling trails on the doorstep.

The bedroom is fairly big and spacious with a built in wardrobe. Can be furnished with a desk and a double size bed if required. The rest of the house has an outdoor deck, and a garage. Kitchen is not the biggest, but good enough. Living area is also quite ok.

I am a chill food lover person. Enjoy my time in the house cooking and having a nice chat or glass of wine. I work from home 2x days a week and go to the office 3x days a week. When I wfh i'm usually in my bedroom, but in my free time in the house I'm either in the lounge, the kitchen or the backyard. I go out and about a fair bit, with once a month being out in nature. I work in renewable energy and sustainability for a local government area. I enjoy board games and the occasional movie night, but don't own a TV, and don't personally want one in the living room, but open to discussion. I do appreciate a projector though for a pop-corn night.

You: chill, friendly and social with respect for personal space. Open to share and have a connection, while also valuing your own time. Other than that, open to know you. Shoot me a line if you're interested and we'll take it from there.

Bills and expenses

Depends on use: electricity roughly $100, same as gas. Water probably a lit less. Internet, i'm currently on my 4G as I'm on my own. But happy to add internet. I think the cheapest is about $60 a month, or we can always chat with the neighbours and see if they are keen to share. Bills to be divided equally.

About the occupants
I'm 38yo, engineer. Work for local government on a 9-5 job. Usually like to wake up early and go for some exercise before I head to the office. I work in sustainability and renewable energy and also have a (or try to) sustainable life. Low waste, a lot of home cooking and if I have the time some home grows.
I love to hang out with people and ideally I'd like to get to know my housemate. Hang every now and then if we match timelines and are in the mood.
I also like to cook a lot a share my food. Also love when I get cooked for :).
I love a lot the outdoorsy life and try going camping every now and then. Same as hiking or bike riding.
I'm sure there's a lot more about me, but I guess that's a good start. Fairly chill and easy going.
