There is one bedroom available that easily fits a queen bed and accompanying furniture. Kate currently uses it for study and online tutoring a few sessions a week.
It's a shared space that can be negotiated.
I live out back above the garage with my own bathroom and use the kitchen, laundry, courtyard garden and occasionally the lounge.

Home Description

Description of the home

3 Bedroom Home Carlton North.
Quirky spacious home in a fantastic location - minutes from Rathdowne Village cafes, bakeries, bars and grocery stores and park, close to Fitzroy and Carlton swimming pools, 15 minute walk to Piedimonte's supermarket and Edinburgh Gardens, 20 minute walk (or quick bike ride) to Brunswick and Johnston Streets. And about the same to get to Cinema Nova, Brunswick and Brunswick East.
The number 96 tram is right behind the house, and not far to walk to the numbers 1, 6 and 11, and about 15-20 mins to the 86.
There's a delightful farmers market every Saturday with organic fresh produce and heaps of yummy treats.
The kitchen, dining and lounge area are open and lovely in the morning sun with plenty of kitchen storage.
The bathroom has a quirky large spa bath with overhead shower and laundry with dryer and washing machine.
There is a reasonably spacious cute courtyard out the back with many succulents and a lemon tree - great space to share an after work drink in the late afternoon sun.
I live above a large garage (with heaps of storage space) out the back and have my own bathroom and shower, so only use the inside bathroom for laundry and the occasional shower.
The house is furnished, however may be room for some more furniture and we no longer have any outdoor seating, so if you have an outdoor setting that would be a bonus. The available bedroom comes unfurnished.

About the occupants
I (Fleur) work full time in a Koori family violence program (currently hybrid - when working from home I work out of my bedroom), have a background in Not-for-Profit in Migration Services and have a passion for human rights and equity, though don't worry I won’t bash anyone over the head with it, but yeah I care about stuff and really value tolerance and kindness. As does Kate who is a delight.

I studied fine art and am currently getting back into painting, sometimes in the courtyard garden when the weather is fine. I love art, reading, movies, music and music festivals, social drinks and eating. I'm fairly social, though also like some solo down time at home. I'm pretty handy in the kitchen and love a good cook up.
***
I (Kate) have a background in music, theatre, and community arts (back in Qld - I just moved here a couple years ago) and I'm currently studying a bachelor of languages and linguistics while working a corporate job to pay the bills. I also tutor high school English subjects a few sessions a week online from home. I love books, theatre, music, movies, and deep meandering conversations about any and all topics. I especially love very terrible jokes and I can always be won over with puns or wordplay. And I really enjoy learning about people and cultures as does Fleur who is wonderful.

We both love sitting in the courtyard when the weather's nice and chatting about any and all things with the occasional card or board game with a hot drink or a fun one (the cheeky boozy kind).
Compatible people
We're hoping to create a friendly, inclusive, open and comfortable home where housemates occasionally share a drink or meal, have a laugh and may even on the odd occasion head out to a local pub or other activity (theatre shows, art exhibitions etc). An environmentally conscious house that is generally clean and tidy, though no one will freak out if dishes are left in the sink overnight (there is also a dishwasher so this never becomes a problem) and there is the occasional lived in clutter.
A house where it is welcome to have mates over for a drink or meal when the occasion suits, and open to a party once in a blue moon.
We also like to keep the study accessible as a visitor's room for the odd occasion when any of us has someone coming from a ways away.
Description of pets
Clara is a five-year-old tabby with quite an amusing personality. She is skittish and fearful to start with but it won't be long until she is demanding pats and cuddles and loudly trying to convince you she hasn't been fed.
