Home Description

Description of the home

Spacious home with ideal access to public transport: 15 mins by foot to Footscray Station, 6 mins to Middle Footscray Station and 10 mins to West Footscray Station.
The home includes a separate laundry area with a washer, a bathroom and 2nd toilet, and a very spacious kitchen.
The bedroom has a futon bed that folds into a sofa or you can get/bring your own; bedroom furniture is negotiable.
We like to keep a clean and tidy household and are looking for a housemate who will contribute equally to that.
Anne runs a small ceramics studio from a separate structure in the back - some past housemates have hardly noticed it’s there; other past housemates have enjoyed using the studio and socialising with other students.
Two adorable guinea pigs also live on-site and bunk in the studio.
Anne also maintains a lovely community garden across the street. We recycle and compost, and enjoy a share of the fruits (and vegetables) of the garden.
This is a LGBTQIA+ friendly household.

About occupants
Anne operates a ceramics studio from an ancillary structure in the back of the house.
A clean and relaxed home is very important to me and do most of my socialising in the studio or outside of the home.

Jenny works at various universities doing library, research and other teaching-adjacent things, while doing a PhD in medieval and Renaissance history. Usually either at work, out in nature or occasionally cat/dog sitting, sometimes WFH.

Two guinea pigs live here too, housed in the studio with a pen in the back courtyard for them to run around during the day.

We have some shared interests and sometimes share a meal or drink or go out together but also have our separate lives and social circles. We don't cook tons (CBF -Jenny in particular has rarely been seen to cook at home) but enjoy a good meal and don't restrict food options, though are mostly vego. Both of us are happy to be friendly with housemates but also each need our own space.
Compatible people
Tidy, friendly and respectful. Would like to have a friendly relationship with housemates. Good communication is worth its weight in gold.
Description of pets
Two guinea pigs: Dwayne and Bruno (RIP, Luke). They do not live inside the house. Cages are in the studio and they have an open air pen for daytime living in the covered back area.
