Home Description

Description of the home

I'm renting out a 1x large bedroom available in a beautiful Californian bungalow in Glen Huntly. The house itself has a large living and dining area, gas kitchen, laundry, with a large tranquil backyard.

The house is located a leisurely 5 min walk to Glen Huntly station on the Frankston line or the 67 tram route. There's a large Woolworths at Glen Huntly station, along with plenty of contemporary cafes all down Glen Huntly Road.

The bedroom comes furnished with large built-in wardrobes and a queen-sized bed (though this can be removed if requested) but the rest of the house is completely kitted out. There will be a fridge, washing machine, and living area already furnished. There are 2x bathrooms in the house, so you'll be sharing a bathroom with 1 other person.

Otherwise, in terms of the household, you'll be sharing with me, the owner (41) who is a consultant, and two other housemates: Jessica (33), a wildlife veterinarian, and Callum (25) a gardener from the UK. We all largely possess 9 to 5 type jobs / lifestyles and are quite active in our own ways. Oh - and you'll be sharing with a friendly and slightly gluttonous housecat called Lexi.

If this feels like a lot, well I thought that would be the case too when I first moved in. But it's quite a large house, and it turned out that with 3 people living there, the place felt really empty and quiet. With 4 people, it felt like a home. So if you're looking for a home type of vibe, this would be it.

As housemates, we're all very clean, respectful of each other's spaces, but equally enjoy some of the benefits that come with a shared house. We cook for ourselves but occasionally will do a house meal together. Fruit is shared in abundance, as is the occasional home-made bread. Once in a while we'll all go out and watch a movie or get a drink together. Similarly, we're always up for helping each other out.

If you're interested, please drop me a text message with a couple of dates / times that you're available to come by for an inspection.

About occupants
My name's Scott (41), I'm the owner of the property. I run a few businesses across a portfolio of education, consulting, and art. My hobbies include sailing and cooking, and I'm always up for a deep chat or a light banter.

Another housemate is Jessica (33) from Queensland, who's a wildlife veterinarian and has a wealth of unique life experiences. And there's Callum (25) a gardener from the UK.

And finally, there's Lexi, a housecat who will trick you into overfeeding her. But she's very friendly and loves keeping people company.

We're all super chill people but quite hardworking meaning we're frequently not in the house with essentially 9 to 5 type jobs. When we are, it's nice to have a good chat over dinner. We're clean, respectful, friendly, and generous in our sharing.
Compatible people
We're looking for someone equally chill, is equally generous and friendly, and is happy to be part of the household whilst respectful of shared spaces.
Description of pets
Lexi is an 8 year old female domestic short hair. She loves company but I suspect this is because she just wants food.
