Home Description

Description of the home

Great location near Camberwell/Hawthorn! Only <10 mins walk to Burwood station (Alamein line) where it's easy to head into Camberwell (10min train) or the city (26min train to Flinders St). Not far to hawthorn/Richmond areas. A 15 minute walk to the #75 tram to go to docklands or change over to the number #16 & head to St Kilda. Only 10-15 minute drive to Chadstone depending on traffic or you can walk 13 min & get the 734 + 903 buses.

We are walking distance to High St where there are cafes, shops & IGA. There are also a couple of cafes at Burwood station. We are also, 1km from Leo's supermarket & the same distance to Ashburton aquatic center & gym. Camberwell is only a 10 minute train or drive & has a Woolworths, Aldi, officeworks, Kmart & shopping strip walking distance from the station, as well as the Camberwell markets on Sundays. Very close to a small park & a couple of nice leafy walking/bike trails, one of which goes all the way to the city, there is also a skate park about 15min down the closest track. (Trails in walking distance are the Anniversary & Ferndale trails.)
The house has ducted heating, not cooling- however we have a portable cooler in the lounge. There is a nice view from the kitchen window out onto the backyard.

The room:
The room is a decent size (around 3.3m x 3.3m), it currently fits 2 wardrobes, a queen bed, a desk, side table & cooler in the room, so it can fit quite a bit! It has a window that looks out the front yard- however due to a tree infront of the window & shrubs in the front yard people cannot see into your window so you have privacy. The room comes unfurnished & does not come with a wardrobe - but we have a couple of spare clothing racks you can have & one has a shoe rack at the bottom.

About occupants
Sarah:
Hi i'm Sarah, i'm 31years old & I love fashion (& have a fashion degree). I am a friendly person & love meeting new people. I run my own small business in social media management, so I mostly work from home but am out once or twice a week to film for clients. In my spare time I enjoy occasionally catching up with friends, the arts & cinema, op-shopping, the occasional bar/gig or festival, spending time with family and watching movies or TV series at home.

Chad:
Chad is 42 years old, he works in traffic management/rail work, sometimes starting early in the morning or night shifts (but don't worry his room is at the back of the house away from the rest of the rooms near the back door, which we goes out & we don't hear him, he's very quiet.) He has a passion for photography, used to own his own photography studio & has done photographic work for fashion magazines previously. He enjoys gaming, gardening, cooking/BBQing, music, gym & bike riding- sometimes doing rides to the city and occasionally catches up with friends.

Sam:
Sam is 68 years old (Sam & Sarah are father & daughter). He is semi-retired & works part time as a school crossing advisor/lollypop man at a local primary school. He is an artist & loves photography, writing & other creative pursuits. He has done multiple photography & sculpture exhibitions at art galleries over the years. Last year he premiered his first comedy show in the Melbourne Fringe Festival & is thinking about his next one! He enjoys travel & caravaning (he has a small caravan), reading, learning things on YouTube, watching TV series & old movies.
Compatible people
We are looking for someone who is friendly as we are all friendly people & someone who is up for a chat- but also likes their own space. Someone who cleans up after themselves. Since we are a house of creatives it would be a bonus if we could find someone else who is also creative in some way, but it is not essential. I would love to incorporate the occasional housemate games night, movie night or something like this, so someone who would be up for that kind of thing would be awesome.
Sarah is immunocompromised due to some of the medications she is on for chronic illness, due to this we are looking for someone who is up to date with their covid boosters/flu shot (or is happy to get up to date), is happy to keep to themselves if they are to test positive.
We are also looking for somebody who is queer friendly (as Sarah is a bi woman) and you will need to like cats as we have one.
We are all homebodies a little but do not expect you to be as much as us haha, however we are not really looking for a party animal.
We are heading into our 3rd year at this property (signed a new lease in Aug) & we are hoping for someone who can stay long-term.
If this sounds like you please get in touch!- We can't wait to hear from you/meet you 😄.
Description of pets
Pablo:
Pablo is a small 6 year old black & white rescue. He is an indoor cat. He is very sweet in nature & a little shy.
