WE’RE A ‘PEOPLE HOUSE’ - THE MOST IMPORTANT ASPECT FOR US!
The specific personal qualities we feel are absolutely essential for a great house...
You/us:
* Communicative
* Friendly
* Easygoing
* Open-minded
* Value harmony
* …even kind
* Reliable
* Considerate
* Scrupulously honest/trustworthy
We’ve had some wonderful housemates who’ve had ALL these qualities! :)
(BTW: even though we are two gay/bi boys, FWIW most of our friends and housemates have been straight. In fact our best mates are straight. So if you happen to be straight, pls don't hesitate to check the place out!)

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sean: 40-something guy also into much of the above, but with a special love for community-oriented, alternative and underground festivals, gatherings and events. Into practical spirituality, human potential and eastern/western ‘psychology’. Socially-conscious: likes to help people and contribute to ‘making the world a better place’, but through knowledge and kindness rather than fixed ideologies. Big believer in ethics. Aspiring acting teacher and director of plays and films…Future entrepreneur in a socially-conscious business. Into wide reading (non-fiction such as history, science and world affairs...as well as fiction (Favourite: 100 years of Solitude))...Close follower of 'current affairs' (especially the big picture of world events and interviews with people with actual knowledge of events 'on the ground', not just the 'MSM narrative'.) Was a journalist for a major newspaper…dabbled in advertising copywriting… now studying law, because it’s intellectually stimulating and can help people. (Wrote this listing)
That's what we really try to live. And that's what experience has shown us you need in a person to have a happy, well-functioning house.
Extra stuff?
* Having some employment makes it easier to get approved by the LL
* We’re tidy and like to keep communal spaces clean, but we're not heavy about it
* Insight: being able to communicate honestly and treating the other person’s values/perspectives as equally 'valid' is so important for harmony
* Open-minded includes:
- being accepting of people with different sexualities and lifestyles
- ‘judging’ people based on their values and actions rather than an outward image or a category they might fit into
- looking at each situation on its merits rather than being heavily into pre-set ideologies
* IDEALLY: we’re pretty warm, friendly people who make an honest attempt to be kind, so our house thrives best with people who also value that human empathy.
But to maintain that goodwill, realistically everyone needs to have integrity/honesty too.
* Bonus: people who have a good sense of humour / are positive / are fun
* We’re totally down for shared meals and activities
* Obviously the best housemate of all is someone who ends up being a friend! :)
