Description of the home

Built in the 1880s, this beautifully restored sandstone house was originally a coach house, brimming with character and charm. The stables at the rear of the property have also been thoughtfully renovated and are rented out separately. Key Features of the House:
Year-round Comfort: Naturally cool in summer, with natural gas heating outlets downstairs for cozy winters.
Modern Kitchen: A large kitchen with a gas hob, electric oven, and a separate walk-in pantry. A shared fridge/freezer is available, but bringing your own or investing in one is preferred.

Convenient Laundry: Internal laundry with a front-loading washing machine and dryer.
Reliable Connectivity: Google Mesh Wi-Fi ensures strong signal throughout the house and backyard.
Shared Amenities: A pool and garden, plus a twin garage, both shared with the stables' tenant.
Ample Storage: Includes a cupboard under the stairs and garage space.

About the occupants
Hi, I’m Jess (she/her), and I’d love to find a friendly, relaxed flatmate to share my home!

I’m a Kiwi in my 40s, working full-time in the government sector. My work schedule is Monday to Friday, 9-5, with a few days working from home. Outside of work, I volunteer as a botanical tour guide.

My life can be busy at times, so I love to keep my home as a place of calm where I can recharge. I share the space with Gigi, my sweet cat.

I enjoy spending my time tending to my small garden and house plants, enjoying the pool, or unwinding after a busy day.

I’m always up for a friendly chat over tea or beer. I’m a big fan of experimenting in the kitchen and cooking with fresh herbs from the garden—it’s all part of the fun.

As my family is mostly interstate or overseas, I occasionally have relatives come to stay, usually once or twice a year.

If you’re someone who values a peaceful, cozy environment with a good balance of social time and personal space, we might just be the perfect fit!
Compatible people
I’m looking for a responsible and considerate flatmate who will enjoy sharing this home with me and Gigi, my friendly resident cat. Here's what I’m hoping to find:

Cat Lover: You’ll be sharing the space with Gigi, so I’m looking for someone who genuinely loves cats and has experience living with them. Bonus points if you’re comfortable helping with small cat-related tasks like feeding her if I’m ever away.

Working Professional: Ideally, you’re a professional with a stable income, reliable when it comes to paying rent and bills on time.

Respectful of the Space: Keeping shared areas clean and tidy is important, as is treating the home with care. This is a place for both of us to feel comfortable and relaxed.

Non-Smoker: This is a smoke-free property, both indoors and outdoors, so I’m looking for someone who doesn’t smoke.

Willing to Meet the Landlord: As this is the landlord’s family home, they’d like to meet you during the vetting process, so someone open to this is essential.

Long-Term Commitment: If you’re looking for a stable, long-term place to call home, this is perfect. The current lease ends in February, and I’m hoping to renew for another 12 months with a flatmate who’s ready to commit.

If this sounds like you, I’d love to have a chat and see if this home feels like the right fit for you!
Description of pets
Meet Gigi, my nearly 2-year-old rescue cat, who’s lived here since she was a tiny, abandoned kitten and now rules the roost! She’s a sweet, curious soul who loves having the freedom to explore every corner of the house and settle into her favorite napping spots. If you’d prefer not to have her in your room, just keep your door closed—she has a knack for exploring anywhere she can!

Gigi is primarily an indoor cat but enjoys some supervised backyard time when I’m home, where she can soak up the sun, chase imaginary friends, or indulge in some zoomies. Her favorite activities include rolling in sunbeams, making “biscuits,” and, of course, long naps. Her next adventure? Mastering the cat door!
