Home Description

Description of the home

Gorgeous, spacious two bed apartment located a 3 minute walk from the new Waterloo metro station. Brand new small complex with a beautifully gardened communal rooftop and communal garden. Central air, fan and heating, with tiled floors throughout so super easy to clean. Gym, shop and cafe all directly outside the building, and it is less than 10 minute walk to supermarkets and bars, with Redfern, Waterloo and Alexandria all being on the doorstep.

Really lovely building - it was a brand new build in 2020 all the occupants moved in one by one during COVID and many of us are now friends - we do BBQs and drinks on the communal roof regularly. Decent sized storage cage in the basement + a car space is all yours if you want it! Easy landlord with one $50 rent increase in 4 years.

I am currently in the smaller non-ensuite bedroom paying $400 - I am happy to swap to the bigger room and pay $450 but be warned that my room has almost no storage.

About the occupants
I'm Owen, 34 year old gay guy, been living in this apartment for over 4 years. Irish but lived here 8 years, working in healthcare recruitment in a hybrid role. I am very social so I'm out and about a lot, I love to cook, exercise, chat but also need days to switch off my batteries and chill - I swing between quiet weekends doing chores, swimming, walking the dog etc and big weekends where I've got plans every day.

My current housemate is moving out as he bought a house but his review is: "I highly recommend this room! And I am so sad to leave! Owen and the lovely Rose 🐶❤️are fabulous housemates"
Compatible people
The ideal housemate will be gay friendly or queer themselves, will want to hang out a couple of nights a week but other than that they've got their own life. While I'm super social, I don't really host people that often - a calmer home space is better these days. Totally fine with it on occasion though! I've been blessed to live with people who become my very good friends, so I'd like that to be the ultimate goal.

Someone who is laid back but responsible is also key! Living together requires compromise and mutual respect and my goal is to make sure you are comfortable living in the space. Happy to change/swap any furniture in the communal spaces as well
Description of pets
Rose is a 14 year old American Staffie X that I rescued a few years ago - she is an absolute dream and absolutely gorgeous (not that looks are everything... but she is). Loves people - gets over-excited with new people but quickly adjusts. She loves attention but not remotely clingy at all - likes to hang out but also sleeps a lot! She is house-trained and goes outside on her morning and evening walks, but uses the living room balcony as a bathroom when she is stuck which I clean up right away.
