Other information
The room is a large, bright and airy room with a brand new, large BIW, with floor-to-ceiling mirrored, sliding doors, providing a ton of storage space. The room amply fits a queen size bed, with room for a small desk. Additionally, I have a 4-drawer tall-boy chest of drawers in the room, which can be removed if not required. I have fully furnished the house, with all the necessities. All you would really need to bring is your bed.

Home Description

Description of the home

I've just moved into a 2-bedroom house and looking for a housemate. It's in a quiet street, with a big backyard, 15 mins stroll to Miranda Rail stn. It's been recently painted throughout, with new flooring in kitchen/dining area, new carpet in the bedrooms & living room, with ceiling fans installed. It also has a separate, internal laundry. There are heaps of off-street parking, at the front of the property, in driveway or in rear yard. There's a share bathroom (shower/bathtub) with a new vanity and a separate toilet. There is no AC but with both the back door and front doors open, it catches any breeze and is surprisingly cool on a hot day.

There might be the possibility of having a pet at the house though I would have to ask the Landlord as I already have a dog. The rear yard is fully enclosed and secure. If approval was to be granted, it would depend on compatibility of your fur baby with my dog, Ruby. She is an English/American staffy, who at almost 13 years old, is very sedate, quiet and well disciplined. She has a wonderful temperament, is super friendly with other dogs and doesn't bark at all (a ‘must have’ in any dog). She is allowed in the house when someone is at home but goes outside at night to sleep in her kennel.
Interested in taking a look? Give us a bell and come and check the place out.

Home features

  • Ceiling fans
  • Broadband Internet
  • Clothes washer
  • Storage room
  • Courtyard, garden or yard
  • BBQ facilities

Bills and expenses

Bills are not included so the electricity and internet would be additional. I have yet to put on the internet or get an electrical bill so can’t say what they would be but at a guess, it’d be @ $20 a month for internet and $50 a month for electricity.

About occupants
Hi I'm Phil, I am 54 years old, and work as a firefighter, though presently I do not work shift work. I am active, like to keep myself fit through swimming, gym and surfing. I am also gay but presently do not have a partner. I'm very sporty and like to keep fit. I'm into swimming, surfing, golf, mtn biking, hiking, camping etc and I just recently got into clay target shooting and indoor rock climbing. I've recently taken up learning guitar and I'm also into yoga and try and meditate every day - I'm very much into cultivating a positive vibe in all things I do and with the people i meet. I'm normally a have-a-chat type of guy, very gregarious and outgoing. But I am also very respectful of others and their own time. I cook a lot, being very healthy in my eating habits so look after myself food wise but am always up for a communal meal should the occasion arise. I'm usually up reasonably early to take the dog, Ruby, for her walk down at the beach which kick starts my day.
Compatible people
Ideally, a good flatmate is a person who you can interact with easily, have good banter and a laugh with when the occasion arises and are able to have good conversations about all manner of topics. Personal qualities would include first and foremost being a clean and tidy person and have an understanding of the responsibilities of living in a share house i.e. of sharing household duties. Other than that, being mindful and respectful of other's space, being considerate of others and doing the little things that make for a harmonious household and a positive vibe is important. Good communication is also up there. If anyone has an issue, I find it's best to just come out and say it rather than bottle it up.
Description of pets
I have an 13 year old female (desexed) staffie. Her name is Ruby and at 19 kgs she is classed as a medium sized dog. She has the sweetest nature and is most happy chasing the ball or getting her belly rubbed. She is an outside/inside dog, meaning that she sleeps outside at night but is allowed to come in whenever someone is home. She is a well disciplined and trained dog, so she stays on her mat when inside. She rarely barks and is the easiest dog to get on with.
