Description of the home

6 min walk to Melville Rd tram, taking you into town. 15-20 minute walk to Sydney Rd, with all its quirks and Cafe restaurants. 15 min walk to train station. Also, buses take you to Heidelberg, Essendon, Moonee Ponds, etc. Very conveniently located. Tram line takes you to: City, hospital precinct, Melb Zoo, and, Vic Market.
It's a compact unit, in a block of five...
The bedroom has a queen bed, and is reasonable in size...bathroom is a share bathroom, which is pretty old fashioned & not in as good a condition as the rest of the place, but is serviceable.

About the occupants
Hi, I am Cheryl...64 years young, and living here, for three and a half years now, with my Whippet-cross dog: Luca. I usually reside in Cairns, but have had an extended stint down here in Melbourne -where I originate from.
Ideally, I am looking for a person who is fairly quiet, will connect with my dog, enjoys a little chat time, but equally, is happy to do their own thing...as I am. Am looking for a fairly short term person as I plan to go overseas by April or May of next year, and would likely need to get someone in to care for Luca the dog...I am medically retired and therefore do not work. I spend quite some time researching a variety of things online, as well as walking the dog. Otherwise, I lead a pretty quiet life.
Compatible people
A good flatmate would be someone I can chat with, but also, who respects my quiet time (as I will also do for them). Someone who is happy to be clean & today, and who would be willing to share these tasks. Someone who is communicative.
Description of pets
My dog Luca, is five now. He has come from a traumatic background, as a rescue dog. I have done a lot of work with him. He still gets spooked, and needs to be treated 'gently'. Otherwise, he's quite sociable with people ( though he can get a little concerned around some men, or even, exuberant energy). Luca is commonly not very good with other dogs...due to his past.
