Home Description

Description of the home

Home is approx 8 yrs old in Aveley. Is close to shops and bus stops and the Ellenbrook train line will be finished in the near future. I am the owner of the house and live in the house.
The house has open living area, dining and lounge. with bedrooms
The house has a nice backyard and covered area with clothes line and garden, the garage is accessed from back laneway and entry to it is in the back yard, it has room for two cars unless you have a larger SUV, then your parking would be street parking unfortunately.

Home features

  • Ceiling fans
  • Air-conditioning
  • Living area heating
  • Broadband Internet
  • Dishwasher
  • Clothes washer
  • Balcony, patio or deck
  • Courtyard, garden or yard
  • BBQ facilities

Bills and expenses

Utilities are shared 60/40 ( for some as I WFH often), there is solar power so electricity is not overly expensive, as long as you are not frivolous with power it will be 60/40 if you are it will be 50/50.
I like to look after my garden so I will pay the extra as well as is my choice to have a nice garden. Internet is shared 50/50. I am happy to share food as well ( I am not a vegetarian btw), or not. I enjoy being social but like my space as well and respect others space too.
I have a cat that have an outdoor cat cage and have access to it and indoors 24/7 through pet door in glass. This means I really can’t accept any new pets……maybe another cat if you are prepared to integrate them with mine and it uses the outdoor cage for its litter trays etc, no litter trays in the house I am afraid.

About the occupants
Hi my name is Derek, 60 (in age only :-) ), I work full time in a government job and frequently work from home. I enjoy time at home and to socialise with friends out and about, or at home. I am neat and tidy and enjoy a clean home and looking for someone with the same values of clean and tidy home. I'm generally laid back and like the house to feel lived in and enjoyed by all that live in the house. I enjoy sharing meal or two and a quite drink, house is social, but not a party house, and enjoy a relaxed atmosphere on week nights, without living in each, others pockets and respectful of privacy and own space. Not precious about flatmates having friends/boyfriends etc, coming over, as expected I would too. Happy to discuss food sharing.
Compatible people
I am openly gay and don’t mind sharing with open minded straight persons, My preferred flatmate would be of a friendly social nature, but definitely has to be confident in there own skin if straight with no sexual orientation bias’s. likes cats around,
A clean and tidy person happy to participate in keeping the house clean and tidy. Although you will have the bathroom to yourself essentially it will be utilised by guests and visitors and keeping it clean will be an expectation I hold in high regard. Happy too or not share food open to discussion on any aspect of sharing. I don’t have much of rules really obvious couple no re decorating the house or changing the garden…… fresh ideas and discussion always welcome in saying that :-), mainly a healthy respect for boundaries and respect of the other person ( including me respecting you), living in the house.
Description of pets
Ivy is the older of the cats in the house and the chub of the two. She is friendly but not a lap cat will come to you for the occasional scratch and to say hello. Champers is the younger of the two, not a huge lap sitter either but will jump up beside you for scratches and give you a head butt of hi and accepts as much oats and under chin scratches you will give.
